How To Bake Without Oven 1 (Pot Method)
Craving cake but no oven? This is for you.
Do you know you can make yummy, moist and fluffy cakes even when you don't have oven? It works with any kind of cake recipe. Since I started baking I can count how many times (not even up to 3) I've used an oven, this has always been my rescue.
I explained everything in this video:

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Get a strong old pot:
It is advisable to use a strong pot that won't easily be disfigured by heat also an old pot cause you don't want to ruin your beautiful pots.
2. Choose your preferred method:
You have 4 options here. To use:
- sand,
- gravel,
- salt or
- the empty pot.
I more often than not use the empty pot method because I noticed that the sand and gravel give this smoky smell to the cake plus there is a risk of sand getting into your batter.
The salt method works perfectly well but what if you don't have enough salt to coat the bottom of the pot?
That leaves us with the empty pot method.
3. Place a rack:
This is so that you don't place the cake pan directly in the pot or on the sand because if you do, it'll burn like crazy. I used a stove top.
4. Heat up the pot:
Ensure you heat up the pot for 2-3 minutes before putting the cake and when you put the cake, reduce the heat to medium to allow it bake well and slowly since there is no thermometer to check the heat.
5. Timing:
It takes almost the same time as the cakes baked in oven sometimes faster. Now you have no excuse as to why you can't bake up and satisfy your cravings.
I have a few great Cake recipes already on the blog you can check them out below and add them to your list to try next!
Let me know in the comment section if you try this and which of the methods worked for you.
