My First Blog Post
My name is Chioma and I always tell people the kitchen is my happy place. Growing up as a first girl in an African home has a way of making sure one lands in the kitchen at an early age (add the fact that I'm the only girl too) but unlike some people I know, that cooks because they should. I cook because it's FUN, and because I CAN so I guess it's time to start sharing my adventures with the world.
Why I started this blog:
Well why not? That's what my cousin would say whenever I try to put off finding a name for the blog or give excuses like "I'm not that good with words". And the reply is always, "you've always been passionate about this, open a blog first and the words will come".
I started cooking at a very tender age; I can remember rushing to my room each time my mum is cooking to get a book and pen to write down the ingredients and the steps of whatever food she was cooking. Fastfoward to the era of smartphones and their topnotch camera features, not a day goes by without me cooking up something different, taking a picture and uploading on social media to the despair of my friends who often say entice them with food pictures that are out of reach haha and some will tell me "why don't you start a blog?" And if that isn't enough passion and inspiration to start a blog, I don't know what else is.
My Goal
According to Alan D. Wolfelt, "Food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate" and my goal is to share love the only way I know how.
What to expect
Simplified recipes, food inspirations, explorations and experiences. From twists to your conventional food recipes to useful kitchen hacks and DIYs. You can also expect travels, foods and restaurant reviews. I can't wait!
