Chocolate Cake Recipe
Having tried so many chocolate cake recipes that failed, I am really ecstatic to tell you that this is the one, the perfect one! It is moist, fluffy, melt-in-the-mouth, you name it, but above it all, it doesn't crumble as I was getting it out of the pan (that has mostly been my issues). The texture is just right. What I learnt during this my period of trial and error is that the quality of the cocoa powder and the quantity of liquid added matters, a lot.So What Are These Magic Ingredients To The Perfect Chocolate Cake?
They are none other than:
- 2 cups of Flour
- 1 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2 Eggs
- 1-1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Oil
- 1 teaspoon Chocolate and/or Vanilla Flavour
Procedure:
- Start by preheating your oven or your pot if you don't have oven (I talked about various ways you can bake without oven here). Then grease your baking pan with some oil, dust with flour and set aside.
- In a bowl, add all the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and soda, salt) and mix well with a whisk
- In another bowl, preferably larger, add all the wet ingredients; the eggs, milk, oil, flavour(s) and mix well.
- Now, pour in the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix well till there are no lumps
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
- The cake is done when a skewer, toothpick or fork inserted in the centre comes out clean.
- Bring it out and leave to cool down completely before you frost or serve as it is or with icecream.
